The Global Fundraising Team is responsible for raising approximately £ 35m of largely unrestricted income in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Sweden, Norway, India, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. As part of Sightsavers' ongoing growth and expansion plan in the Nordic countries, we are looking for a fundraising and marketing manager to oversee the Norwegian program.



Purpose of the role


This is a great opportunity to develop, shape and drive the implementation of the fundraising strategy that will diversify and increase income to support the mission of Sightsavers. The Postmaster will be accountable and responsible for developing and managing this ambitious fundraising and development strategy and delivering it throughout the organization.

The Head of Fundraising and Marketing for Norway will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of all fundraising activities with a particular focus on major donors, trusts and foundations (including the postal code lottery) and companies at the national level. The mail carrier must sign up for international travel to the UK, probably for a few days each month.
The post holder will also be responsible for the maintenance and development of the Norwegian board of directors, as well as for the establishment and maintenance of relationships with suppliers and in-company inspections.

Primary responsibilities


The head of fundraising and marketing has the main responsibility for the overview of the whole Norwegian program. In this context, the incumbent has the following responsibilities:


  • Lead the development and implementation of the fundraising strategy for Norway.
  • Develop fundraising and marketing strategies and manage a range of activities for Norway.
  • Supervision of individual giving including supervisor assistance - Collaboration with Profundo. (Campaign management, which is carried out by the global direct marketing team).
  • Be the spokesperson for Sightsavers Norway as head of relationship building with the Insamling Controls and other charities.
  • Work with the Global Head of Digital Fundraising, conduct digital activities such as social media, digital advertising, and keep the site up to date with relevant stories to increase the donor base.
  • Identify, negotiate and manage new funding partnerships in fundraising businesses and with local trusts and foundations to diversify and expand the funding portfolio. These include the postal code lottery and an application for the annual Telethon.
  • Work with the Global Institutional Funding Team to develop the relationship with NORAD.
  • Develop the legacy fundraising program.
  • Identify and maintain relationships with the main donors.
  • Contacting and meeting with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing, Sweden, to ensure the consistency of the Embassy in the region.
  • Cultivate and work with the Norwegian board to promote the mission of Sightsavers Norway.

Profile:


  • At least five to eight years of proven and relevant experience in fundraising and development in an organization with various fundraising streams.
  • Proven expertise in various fundraising channels, including traditional and digital fundraising initiatives, supporter/donor involvement, and experience in generating revenue from businesses, big financiers, foundations, and individual sources.
  • Experience in developing and implementing long-term fundraising strategies, coordinating input from various stakeholders and adapting these strategies to reflect the change and/or stakeholder needs.
  • Proven track record of recognition of the organization in the Norwegian context.
  • Proven financial management experience, including forecasting, budgeting and spending monitoring for a variety of projects.
  • Extensive experience working with lenders as an external spokesperson for organizations.
  • Proven track record in building relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in working with a remote team would be beneficial.
